A Knit for Peace holiday!

Edinburgh Country House Party
March 14th – 17th

Combine a visit to the Edinburgh Yarn Festival with a chance to visit Edinburgh and its surroundings.
Famous knitters Juliet Bernard and Erika Knight will be joining us and promise to share their knitting hints. One evening, Juliet will even lead our scratch choir singing Scottish ballads (for those that want!).
Cost is £595 which includes a £100 donation to Knit for Peace. By holding our event at Newbattle Abbey, we’re supporting the work of this charitable institution. This price includes three nights bed and breakfast (arriving on the 14th and departing the morning of the 17th), access to the grounds, the historic buildings, and evening events.

The Ultimate Indian Experience – Join in the Dasara Festival on this Knit for Peace holiday!
October 16th – 29th
|
Due to the success of our Knit for Peace holidays at the Green Hotel, Mysore, we are organising a second holiday in October 2018. It will give you an extraordinary opportunity to see the Dasara festival, then relax in the prize-winning garden of the Green Hotel and improve your knitting. We’re honoured to have Debbie Bliss lead this holiday. We are organising VIP tickets which allow access to all dance performances, exhibitions and most importantly reserved seats for the Dasara procession. The weather should be perfect, blue skies and sunshine. The food’s delicious and like all Knit for Peace holidays, we guarantee a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.

There are also lots of ways to support Knit for Peace’s efforts worldwide through the Good Gifts catalogue.
|
Please don’t send any more knitting between the 14th December and the second week of January because we want to clear the Knitting Room and give it a good clean!
|
We don’t need toys just yet, though you could prepare for Easter chicks. Most needed, blankets all sizes, adult scarves and hats, dressing gowns from our pattern (see our website), children and baby cardigans and warm adult clothes. We are oversupplied with premature baby clothes.

Ways to support Knit for Peace
|
It costs a lot to acknowledge, sort and dispatch the donated knitting. We estimate that we are sending £5,000,000 worth of goods each year. You, our knitters (we calculate now over 20,000 in the UK) are generous in making and delivering knitting and we truly appreciate it. If you can spare any funds to help us with the costs of Knit for Peace, we could help even more people in need. Thank you to those who’ve responded so generously.
|
We’ve sent out in the last week a record 100 sacks and hope to send another 50 before Christmas. Lots of knitted toys and children’s items to make sure they receive a present during the gift-giving season. Lots of lovely knitted jumpers, warm dressing gowns (always more needed), warm blankets have gone to families in need at home and abroad. On their behalf, thank you knitters.
