June Newsletter 2021
Two new Knit for Peace holidays
Knit for Peace holidays are well known for being friendly. One visitor commented “I came alone and left with friends”. You don’t have to be an expert knitter or crocheter, just a cheerful learner.
Both holidays will give you the chance to learn from a renowned tutor and meet other like minded knitters.
Gladstone’s Library, Hawarden – Tutor: Jane Crowfoot
Dates: Arrive 13th December – Depart 17th December 2021 (4 nights)
Cost: £895 per person (incl. £100 donation for Knit for Peace’s work to help abused women)
Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford – Tutors: Debbie Bliss & Merion Willis
Dates: Arrive 5th January – Depart 8th January 2022 (3 nights)
Cost: £945 per person (incl. £100 donation for Knit for Peace’s work to help abused women)
Spring cleaning
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY KNITTING IN JUNE. We have lots of knitting to send out and we want to spring clean the knitting room.
Sponsor a sack

Good News from Israel
We were pleased to hear that Knit a Community in Israel, which brings together knitters from all different communities – Jews, Moslems, Christians, Druze and Bedouin, has continued, and will be holding their annual get together, the National Gathering in August.
To see how it works, and cheer you up, see this video. Our plan is to set up Knit for Peace groups in other Middle Eastern countries, bringing people from different, often hostile, communities together. Knitting needles become the Weapons of Peace.
Seasonal yarn bombing
Not sure what to do with your left over yarn? These are some of the pictures we’ve been sent of creative yarn bombing projects around the UK.
Tombola Packs
We still have lots of tombola packs available, thanks to the generous donation of yarn we received from Love Crafts. These large packs of assorted yarns are great value for money.
Buy yours here for £24 + £4 P&P.
