Keeping refugees warm in Greece

Last month we sent 12 sacks of knitting to refugees living in makeshift camps in Greece. Here’s some feedback:
“Thank you so much for the donation of beautiful knitted goods last week,  which your wonderful knitters have created (with such love) for the benefit of vulnerable people.
The team distributed hats, gloves and scarves, jumpers and jackets, all necessary items to get through the harsh winter in Northern Greece, where temperatures drop to minus 10 degrees. We were able to distribute clothes to around 700 people. The recipients obviously were thankful for what they received. In the days following the distribution, they were building snowmen, and having snowball-fights. The clothing items seem to have helped the residents to see the beautiful side of winter.”

Back from a wonderful knitting holiday in Mysore

Here is what people said:
“A truly memorable trip made special by the attentive and friendly hotel. Thank you to all the Knit for Peace team –I will recommend the trip to fellow knitters.”

“The Hotel exceeded expectations on every front. Food, rooms, service, gardens were all excellent. We learnt a number of new techniques as well as revisiting old ones. Visiting the orphanage, the slums and the supplementary schools were thought provoking and moving.  The work of the charity is clearly changing lives.”

The next knitting holiday at the Green Hotel, Mysore, South India is 18th – 31st January 2020.
