Orange Hats Appeal
Thank you to all the knitters who responded to our orange hats appeal, here are the amazing results so far!
It is not too late if you would like to get involved and knit bright orange hats for babies needing extra care. It can be from any pattern you like knitting and with any type of wool (it just needs to be bright orange!).
Enter this month’s raffle for your chance to win a wonderful selection of yarn, including hand dyed, luxurious materials and beautiful colours.
£5 a go and you can enter as many times as you like. All proceeds go toward supporting Knit for Peace.

Wool Hunt near the Welsh Border
4th – 7th May 2019
Come and join us on our Great Wool Hunt based at Gladstone’s Library, Hawarden. A chance to see wool spun from fleece to yarn, visit yarn warehouses for great bargains and see historic Llandudno.
Includes: B&B and dinner, transport to the different shops £35 donation to Knit for Peace’s work.
Knitting Holiday, Mysore South India
18th – 31st January 2020
Beat the January Blues and join us for an opportunity to knit in the sun, eat delicious food, meet new people and improve your knitting and crochet skills. Led by Jane Crowfoot.

The Colours of Mysore – Painting Holiday
10th – 24th August 2019
We are organising a two-week stay at the Green Hotel in Mysore, with painting tutorials led by Dolph van Eden. Mysore will provide a wonderful backdrop. Each day will bring a different location and theme: wild life, street scenes; temples; markets; dhobi ghats; flowers; palaces; people…
53 sacks of knitting have just been sent off to Syria. Thank you to everyone who donated knitting and who sponsored a sack.
Please help us meet the cost of sending out the knitting and sponsor a sack for £12 so we can continue to send warm clothes and blankets to those in need.
Help Abused Women
Here is a nice message from our latest delivery of wool to one women’s refuge:
We just wanted to say a huge thank you for the wool that you gave us a couple of weeks ago. The knitters in both projects were so pleased to get such a lot of choice it gives them a lot of inspiration and also encourages lots of new knitters. Thank you. I thought you might like to see some of the things that have been made recently.
Help us raise £25,000 so we can continue to supply yarn, needles, and haberdashery to women so they can knit. This is specifically so we can continue to help those in the most wretched circumstances: women forced to flee war and civil unrest; trafficked women; victims of domestic violence…
Knitting helps their recovery, because it is calming, it makes them feel useful, as they knit for themselves, their children and others. Some even set up small businesses, selling their knitting.
Can’t make pancakes without eggs! And for those who want to do something positive for Lent here are a few ideas (more can be found on our sister charity Good Gifts).
