Happy New Year & Thank you all for your support!

Thank you so much for your support and all the beautiful and warm knittings you have sent us! We have rushed to send out enormous quantities of warm blankets, clothes and toys, making sure people do not feel forgotten, are kept warm, and feel wrapped in love and care in the items made for them.

Great Ideas for Raising Funds for Knit for Peace

A huge thank you to The Blue Room Nailsea, Knit for Peace Lostwithiel, Haverhill Knitters and Otley Knitters for their fundraising projects, resulting in an absolutely huge donation of knitting and incredibly generous support towards the cost of sending out knitted donations to those in need!

We always love reading your messages

The Blue Room Nailsea Project said:

“We have been quite overwhelmed by the level of the response to this community project. It has reached out to people on so many different levels, giving a sense of purpose and community to many of the people who have got involved.
Some have returned to knitting after many years, older people in particular have enjoyed feeling useful again, and we have seen how generous people can be when a cause touches their hearts. When I added up the total number of items donated and made by our volunteer ‘sewer uppers’ (over 1000!) I was moved to tears. It has been a pleasure to be involved and I’m sure we will try to do something like this again in the future.”

“You’re doing a wonderful job & giving people who love to knit a worthwhile cause to knit for”

“Thank you for providing an opportunity for me ( & others) to make a small contribution to try to alleviate the suffering of refugees”

“My mum knitted these hats after I had been to Madagascar and told her how the climate was changing and people (especially the children) had no warm clothes in the winter months.”

Thank you for your kind words!

And it’s good to hear feedbacks from those who received the knitting

“I would like to express our thanks for the recent generous donation of baby hats, jackets and booties. They are so beautifully knitted and exactly what our babies need! Your kindness and thoughtfulness is much appreciated by both staff and parents alike. “

“Thank you for your donation for Freedom from Fistula. Your donation of hand knitted baby blankets, toys, and squares will go towards transforming the lives of women who have been suffering with fistula, perhaps for many years, by offering them free fistula repair surgeries and rehabilitation.”
