January Newsletter 2020
In the last month we have sent out hundreds of sacks to refugees on Lesbos; to hospices and hospitals; scarves and hats for the homeless, twiddlemuffs to the Ambulance Service to calm down anxious patients, and children’s clothes to community based charities throughout the UK.
Please help us meet the cost of sending warm clothes to those in need by sponsoring a sack. Dedicate a sack in the name of a friend, a relative or in remembrance.
We’re starting the year with a fantastic selection of Debbie Bliss Yarns, with 3 different varieties, with more than enough to make a beautiful sweater or cardigan, or many hats and scarves, in each.
What we need
Adult hats, scarves and gloves; bed jackets and shawls; adult and children socks; medium and large blankets.
We do not need baby blankets nor prem baby wear at the moment.
Our Christmas Yarn Tombola was a huge success and we are planning another one for the spring. So if you have any spare balls of yarn please send them to us.
Nice feedback from recipients
“Thank you very much for your kind donation of hats, scarfs, gloves and blankets for our patients at Chelsham House specialist dementia assessment unit. They will make a big difference to patients in this cold weather and allow more people to get off the ward for time outside in the fresh air.”
“Thank you for all the kind donations my hospital has received from yourselves – knitted blankets, hats, scarves, gloves etc, for our vulnerable patients. Please keep those knitting needles going as they are gratefully received.”
