You may have seen the BBC Panorama programme featuring North Denes School in Great Yarmouth. We are very happy to be able to help them, both with funds from the Good Gifts Catalogue, and by sending warm knitting. We are also sending yarn and needles, so they can set up a knitting group.

Is there anyone who could help by teaching knitting and guiding less experienced knitters? It could be once a month, fortnight or week! Let Marie know by emailing knitforpeace@charitiesadvisorytrust.org.uk

Knitting needed

We have had a good response from care homes who ask for socks, shawls, lap blankets (30 x 40 inches), cardigans (male and female), twiddlemuffs and dressing gowns.

Large blankets are needed on the Greek Island of Lesbos.

Can we have ponchos for children. There’s a pattern on our website. Ponchos are warm and fit all shapes!

Shelters for the homeless are asking for adult cardigans in neutral colours. Adult scarves, mittens would be appreciated.

Please sponsor a sack so we can afford to send out all the knitting, £12

Knit a Community

Great response to our project bringing people of different religions, ethnicity and political beliefs, together to meet each other through a shared interest of knitting. The plan to set up parallel organisations in the West Bank (Palestine) and Jordan we hope to kick start next year, as soon as we raise the funding (around £60,000 a year for each county).
